Blue Moon

It's day 2 of the #Sharemysoul challenge!  Yay!  I have to admit, I didn't get the camera out until late in the day.  But I did get it out.  I had the intent to shoot the full moon, the blue moon, when it finally rose above the horizon.  There were a few clouds hovering on the horizon so by the time the moon was visible the sky was quite dark, not allowing for much of a foreground capture (without using flash).  My husband and I were on our way to dinner when we pulled over to shoot the moon.  I had been thinking about asking him to pose with his hand out or pointing at the moon (with a little more light) but I hadn't mentioned it to him yet.  When I did ask him to get in the frame...he naturally took his pose to "hold the moon" and point at it (yes, exactly what I was thinking!).  Once again, we communicated by our thoughts and didn't need to speak.  This happens all the time and I'm still in awe.  Almost every day we respond to questions or act on something that the other was thinking about.  Yes, we DO communicate telepathically and I love it!!  We were amazed when we started recognizing how often it happens.  But now we're getting used to it and we even visit each other in our dreams.  Recently, we both remembered the same events from our dream together. Very awesome!  I think we are really one person.  But wait... aren't we ALL ONE?  We are all connected.  What I do, think, feel and say affects you and it affects the people, animals, plants...everything around me, it affects the world.  And what you do affects me. Knowing this, it's easy to realize how truly important it is to be mindful and conscious of everything we do, say, think and feel....and to live our lives from our hearts with love and compassion.  To be kind and loving to yourself and to others.  We are all one.  Ometeotl!

Dog Days of Summer

The dog days of summer are here!  Wow, I wait all year for these days and I haven't taken my camera out much at all these past few months.  It's time to start creating again.  I am inspired by the #SHAREMYSOUL challenge by Arielle.  She is so right on!  How often do we put off doing what we love and sharing it with the world because we don't think we are quite good enough, or ready enough, or not unique enough....or many other things?? I'm tired of holding back and hiding behind my wall of protection.  It's time to break through, step out, be in the world, share what I have to offer and learn from others.  I encourage you to do the same.  You have many gifts and I would love to see what you have to share!

So, here is day one of the challenge for me.  Each day I will create a blog with images of my day and post them on facebook.  Rather than just doing one image a day, I am creating a compilation from the day. I am finding the EXTRA within an ordinary day....for each day truly is EXTRAORDINARY!!

Enjoying the Fall

Ok, so I haven't kept up with my blog this summer!  Life was busy.  Summer is a time for play and being outdoors, right?  As we move into fall things are slowing down a bit, giving me time to reflect, organize, let go and welcome the new.  It has been an amazing couple months in many ways.  I hope others are finding joy in the beauty around them as the air cools, the colors and change and we bundle up in preparation for a chilly, snowy few months (at least here in MN!).  I found great beauty in Frontenac, MN in the woods during a retreat I went to.  And then I had the honor of photographing an engagement shoot of gorgeous, happy couple amongst the yellow leaves of fall.  Time to move into an amazing winter!

Gratitude Photo Day 2

I missed a day due to crazy busy work.  Finally, onto day 2 of my gratitude photo project.  Today I would like to share how grateful I am for my amazing Twister Sister, Peggy Willenberg.  I can't even begin to explain in words how much she means to me.  Peggy is my soul sister.  She is one of the most incredible people I know.  Peggy is so beautiful (as you can see!), generous, creative, super smart, loving, thoughtful, the best writer I know, an incredible mother and wife, and so connected and in tune with animals and the earth.  She is truly the whole package and more! She has supported me through the best and the worst of times.  I can never express how extremely grateful I am for this wonderful woman in my life.  Thank you Peggy.  I love you!
